I'm really sorry you're not feeling well. Being sick really does remind us of all the blessings we take for granted. Alhamdulillah, at least you're able to write. I hope you had a good time in Chicago and Kansas City. And may Allah grant you Shifa soon!!

I hope you've recovered by now. And yes - that was a poem :)

I'm also down, though mine is a recovery from surgery. This is one of my last days before returning to work, and despite the pain and simmering anxiety about relapse and possible repeated procedure (or medical trial and error, which I cannot afford) - the time to rest and the psychological distance from pressure has been a treat. A needed treat. The problems are still there, and the non-work work (life admin) still piles up, but I *feel* calmer...more centred. Less panicked. Because I received this beautiful gift of an enforced break from the norm. Sadly, I didn't write anything publishable, but at least I journalled a lot.

I sort of imagine that this is what retirement will be like, if I eventually reach that stage.
